Fort Snelling Cadet Squadron is holding Class 3, Small Group Leadership Training (SGLT) on 13 August 2016. Projected training time will be from 0830 – 1630. The purpose of SGLT is to provide leaders with a foundation of knowledge and skills to build their new leadership abilities from, or to supplement existing abilities, while sharing experience and knowledge between participants. The information covered by SGLT is not normally available in day to day training within Civil Air Patrol. If you are interested in gaining a broader perspective on leadership, and developing new skills and abilities that you can apply to be a more successful leader and supervisor in and out of Civil Air Patrol, you should consider attending. This course will include instruction on: -The role of a leader -Traits of a successful leader -Practical application of cadet protection policy -Psychology of leadership -Proactive behavior modification -How to provide formal and informal feedback Eligibility to attend SGLT requires all participants be a current member at the time of training, hold a grade of at least a C/SSgt or have completed Level 1 of professional development no later than 12 August 2016. There are no exceptions to the eligibility requirements. Enrollment in a Cadet Programs specialty track is ideal, but not required for senior members to attend. As of 17 May, 4 of 20 seats were filled. The application deadline is 31 July 2016, and all e-mail applications must have a timestamp of prior to 2359:59 hrs
